At Crown Wealth Strategies, being a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ is more than a title; it’s a keystone of Lizzie’s planning philosophy that guides the way she interacts with clients. CFP®s commit to always serving their clients’ best interest, and as a CFP®, Lizzie strives to help you achieve the best possible outcomes by consistently pursuing financial education and adhering to a high ethical standard. When she acts as your CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, her goal isn’t just to perform transactions, but to shape a lasting relationship. At Crown, we know that if we’re truly going to serve your best interest, we need to have a core understanding of who you are and what matters to you.

What is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™?

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERS™ are required to study and master nearly 100 financial planning topics as part of their designation process. After completing the CFP® Board’s curriculum (or equivalent coursework) and passing the exam, professionals seeking a CFP® designation must also complete a specified number of continuing education hours before they receive their certification. Then, to maintain their title, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ must also complete 30 continuing education hours each reporting period, two of which are allotted for the Board’s approved Ethics courses.

There are seven core principles CFP®s agree to uphold: integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism, and diligence. These principles guide the planning process and ensure that clients receive fair and effective service when working with a CFP®. Additionally, CFP®s promise to:

  • Act with honesty, integrity, competence, and diligence
  • Act in the client’s best interests
  • Exercise due care
  • Avoid or disclose and manage conflicts of interest
  • Maintain the confidentiality and protect the privacy of client information
  • Act in a manner that reflects positively on the financial planning profession and CFP® certification

What does working with a CFP® mean for you?

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Lizzie’s role is to gain a better understanding of your financial situation through fact-finding and personal conversations with you. From there, she works together with you to determine your objectives, goals, timeline, and risk tolerance; then analyzes the data and reviews your options so she can recommend suitable insurance and/or securities products that effectively support your goals.

As a CFP®, Lizzie's recommendations and advice are founded in her knowledge, experience, and her complete understanding of your goals, risk tolerance, and personal and financial circumstances. If there is ever any conflict of interest that arises during our work with you, Lizzie will provide you information in writing about the potential conflict. Additionally, you will receive specific information about how she is compensated so you can be confident about our motives and how we strive to serve your best interest.

When Lizzie bears the title of a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, she takes that seriously. She always strives to provide thorough service for her clients and offer value that reflects the standards upheld by the CFP® Board and her fellow planning professionals. She’s dedicated to the highest ethical standard in all her interactions, and she measures her success by the benefit she brings to clients. At the end of the day, if we’ve done what is right and what’s best for you, we call that a win—that’s what being a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ is truly about.
